Last week's Focus on Retail event was a huge success

Last week was amazing! We would like to thank everyone who helped us plan and put on our very first industry focus: Focus on Retail.

We published some great articles such as A career in retail is a great fit for students with a passion for fashion and 6 major retail career paths to help bring further awareness to students interested in getting into the industry. Don’t forget to check out some of the fun video blogs we posted.

TalentEgg also had the pleasure of hosting a seminar at Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers School of Retail Management with first-year retail management students and recruiting managers from Starbucks Coffee Canada, Enterprise and Reitmans (Canada) Ltd.

Check out this second clip from the event:

There are also still some great retail career opportunities posted on the site from our sponsors: Reitmans, Sears, The Source, Enterprise and Starbucks. Be sure to take a look!

We currently have three industry focus events in mind for the future:

  • Sept. 6-10, 2010: Focus on Engineering
  • Sept. 20-24, 2010: Focus on Sales/Marketing
  • Oct. 4-8, 2010: Focus on Accounting/Finance

If you have any feedback on the Focus on Retail event, or on TalentEgg in general, be sure to leave us a comment!

Exciting things going on at TalentEgg in March!

As usual, the past few weeks have been very exciting here at TalentEgg.  Firstly, we would like to give a warm welcome to two new TalentEgg clients, The Source and Starbucks. Be sure to keep checking back for great job postings from these two great companies!

Also, TalentEgg’s founder, Lauren Friese, has recently been taking some fun road trips across Ontario to McMaster University, York University, the University of Toronto Mississauga, University of Toronto Scarborough and Queens!

Check out this video of Lauren from the Impact Innovate 2010 Conference at Queen’s University on March 6 where she spoke with students about entrepreneurship:
