Canadian employers recognized for outstanding achievements in attracting and recruiting post-secondary students

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TORONTO, ON, May 15, 2012 – Five Canadian employers were presented with Campus Recruitment Excellence Awards for their achievements in attracting and recruiting post-secondary students and recent graduates over the last year at the first annual TalentEgg Campus Recruitment Excellence Awards and Conference in Toronto on May 14.

“The TalentEgg Campus Recruitment Excellence Awards mark the first time that the campus recruitment activities of Canadian employers have been recognized and celebrated,” said Lauren Friese, founder of TalentEgg Inc.

“These employers represent the most innovative and effective campus recruitment strategies in use in Canada, which will become increasingly important as more Baby Boomers leave the workforce and employers are forced to compete for high-quality entry-level talent.”

Employers submitted applications in January and February, and the winning campaigns were selected by a panel of more than 200 students and recent graduates from across Canada during a judging period in March. The judges ranked the employers and also provided qualitative feedback on their activities.

“TalentEgg sits at the intersection between students and employers, so it was essential that students and recent grads evaluated employers’ applications – not industry experts or other employers,” Ms. Friese said. “Employers are always looking for feedback from students on their campus recruitment activities so they can implement the most effective and cost efficient strategies moving forward.”

Ms. Friese shared the judges’ feedback and best practices with more than 150 campus recruiters, human resources professionals and career services staff at the awards ceremony.
